According to foreign media on the 18th (local time), multiple gunshots rang out inside the stadium just before the bottom of the 6th inning during the game held the previous day at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Startled spectators hurried to leave the stadium, and the players also evacuated urgently. As the chaotic situation continued, the game was eventually suspended.
The sound of a shooting outside the stadium echoed inside. The Washington D.C. police stated, "Two vehicles engaged in a shootout near the stadium," adding, "One vehicle has been apprehended, and the other is being pursued."
Three people were injured in the incident. A female fan outside the stadium was wounded; she is currently receiving treatment at a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The other two injured individuals were involved in the shootout, and the police are investigating the circumstances with them.
