After the announcement of former Chairman Choi's party admission, the Democratic Party criticized, saying, "Resigning during the term as chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection and immediately joining politics is an unconstitutional act that undermines the political neutrality of the Board of Audit and Inspection." They added, "Former Chairman Choi was supposed to protect the neutrality and independence of the organization he belonged to. Nevertheless, driven by presidential ambitions, he is ruining the organization he was part of and running for president. Whether this is Choi Jae-hyung-style politics or not, it is absurd that such a person becomes a representative of the people."
