According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 15th, five of the confirmed cases are trainees at the Army Training Center in Nonsan, Chungnam, where a cluster infection occurred. All were in individual isolation when symptoms appeared late, and subsequent testing confirmed positive results.
As a result, the Nonsan Training Center's cumulative confirmed cases due to the cluster infection have increased to a total of 111 since the first confirmed case was reported on the 7th (based on the reporting date). Including two other trainees confirmed positive with different infection routes during the same period, the total reaches 113.
Of the seven new confirmed cases, the remaining two are officers belonging to Army units in Anyang, Gyeonggi, and Inje, Gangwon. Both had only completed the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
As of 10 a.m. on the day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases within the military rose to 1,174. However, this figure excludes six confirmed cases among overseas-deployed Cheonghae Unit personnel, who are not included in the health authorities' 'domestic confirmed cases status,' bringing the total confirmed cases within the military to 1,180.

Meanwhile, the number of second doses of the Pfizer vaccine administered to soldiers under 30 years old reached 356,902 as of the previous day, completing 90.2% compared to the first dose recipients (approximately 395,000).
