Lotte Chemical Wins 'WINNER' Main Award at 2021 Red Dot Design Award
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Lotte Chemical announced on the 15th that it won two main awards, the 'WINNER', at the 2021 Red Dot Design Award.
The Red Dot Design Award is organized by the Design Center of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and is considered one of the world's top three industrial design awards along with the American IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) and the German iF (International Forum) Design Award.
Lotte Chemical's artificial marble antibacterial material, evermoin®, was applied to the hygienic meeting space 'Care-free Zone with Staron®', which won its first award in the 'Office and Commercial Furniture' category with the concept of a space that can be safely used from viruses such as COVID-19.
Also, 'Natural Rays', which realizes the natural light that provides mental and physical stability using plastic materials, won the main award for the second consecutive year in the 'Materials and Surfaces' category.
Lee Young-jun, head of the Advanced Materials Business, said, "We will quickly provide differentiated material solutions to customers by combining aesthetics that match trends and functionality desired by the times," adding, "We will further strengthen our advanced material competitiveness and do our best to satisfy customers."
