Prize 'Dacha' for Tourist Spot Certification Shots... Gyeongbuk Province's Top 100 Tourism Challenge Tour
Earn Gifticons and Agricultural Product Vouchers by Participating in Quiz and Certification Shot Missions
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Gyeongbuk Province announced that, together with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture and Tourism Corporation, it will launch the 'Gyeongbuk Tourism 100 Challenge Tour' starting from the 15th.
The 'Gyeongbuk Tourism 100 Challenge Tour' is a non-face-to-face mission tour program using mobile devices, where travelers visiting the 100 selected tourist spots in Gyeongbuk can easily and safely participate by accessing a webpage on their own phones.
Gyeongbuk Province first introduced the challenge tour in 2020, reflecting the need for contactless tourism due to COVID-19 and the travel trend of posting 인증샷 (proof photos) on SNS. At that time, the number of mission participations reached about 75,000, receiving great response. This year, the program has been expanded as a Daegu-Gyeongbuk mutual growth project, adding 15 selected tourist spots in Daegu.
The 100 selected mission locations in Gyeongbuk were chosen by analyzing big data, recommendations from cities and counties, and visitor statistics of major tourist spots within the province. Priority was given to contactless tourist destinations suitable for untact travel demand caused by COVID-19, according to Gyeongbuk Province.
To participate, travelers visit their desired mission location, scan the QR code attached at the entrance of the tourist spot with their phone, or access the mobile website, complete a simple membership registration, allow GPS location, and then start the challenge.
Each tourist spot’s mission consists of two steps. First, participants solve a quiz related to the tourist spot and then take and upload a 인증샷 (proof photo). Upon completing both missions, participants can enter a roulette draw to receive gift coupons ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 KRW. The gift coupons vary and include convenience store coupons, Happycon gift certificates, cafe beverage exchange tickets, and fuel vouchers.
The first 1,000 participants who complete missions at three tourist spots will receive a 30,000 KRW coupon usable at 'Saiseo,' Gyeongbuk Province’s agricultural specialty online shopping mall. Among travelers who visit more than 20 spots, 100 will be selected to receive prizes worth approximately 50,000 KRW. Related events will be held twice, during Chuseok and at the end of the year.
At the end of the year, a 'Travel King' will be selected among travelers with high participation rates. The top six participants who visit the most tourist spots will be awarded national tourism gift certificates worth up to 3 million KRW.
Kim Sang-cheol, Director of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, said, "We have prepared a travel system that allows safer and smarter travel in line with the COVID-19 era," and added, "We hope many will create special and fun travel memories at the clean and safe travel destinations recommended by Gyeongbuk Province."
