According to the university on the 14th, the Hannam University Scholarship Committee decided the day before to distribute a total budget of approximately 1.1 billion KRW evenly to all students.
The special scholarship is funded by utilizing the unspent budget due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which made it impossible to carry out programs such as overseas exchanges, overseas volunteer activities, and global talent development.
The recipients are all undergraduate students registered as of the end of the last semester on the 18th of last month, and the special scholarship will be transferred to the students' accounts around mid-next month.
Additionally, Hannam University plans to provide extra scholarships during the second semester under the names ‘Hannam Dream Scholarship’ and ‘Hope Dream Scholarship’.
Previously, Hannam University provided 300,000 KRW per enrolled student last year as a COVID-19 relief scholarship. This was the largest amount among regional universities, with a total budget of 3 billion KRW.
Separately, within the university, a special fund collected by faculty and staff through small contributions was also delivered to students facing financial difficulties.
