View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Kim Yoon-sik, Chairman of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea (NACUFOK), will extend his term as Chair of the World Credit Union COVID-19 Response Committee for one more year.
According to NACUFOK on the 14th, the World Council of Credit Unions held a virtual general meeting the previous day and decided to extend Chairman Kim's term as Response Committee Chair. The committee was established in July last year to assist credit union members worldwide in recovering from damages caused by COVID-19.
As Chair, Kim has held international virtual meetings to regularly monitor the COVID-19 situation in various countries. Protective supplies were provided to Colombia, Brazil, and Kenya. He also supplied 65,000 masks to Korean-American credit unions in North America and the Credit Union League in Hong Kong, as well as 30,000 masks to six countries including Kenya and Peru.

Meanwhile, Chairman Kim is the only Asian director on the World Council of Credit Unions and serves as a member of the Executive Committee, the highest decision-making body within the board.
