Architect Hwang Sunwoo Appointed as Chairman of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service
"Expecting Expansion of Solidarity and Cooperation Among Educational Entities Based on Expertise and Experience"
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 13th that Mr. Hwang Soon-woo has been appointed as the chairman of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service. His term is three years, until July 2024.
Chairman Hwang is the director of the architectural firm Vine. As an architect, he has developed and operated creative arts education programs that incorporate the value and philosophy of culture and arts through space regeneration and the utilization of local cultural resources. He has also served as the chief planner of Jeonju Palbok Art Factory, the first branch of the dedicated arts education facility "Dreaming Art Space," the head consultant for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s cultural regeneration project of abandoned industries, and an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Convergence at Inha University.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated, "Based on his rich expertise and experience accumulated in the arts field, we expect him to expand solidarity and cooperation among various educational stakeholders and invigorate the promotion of cultural arts education projects." They added, "The Ministry will also strengthen support to help society recover daily life from the COVID-19 crisis through cultural arts education and to enable healthier communication and growth within our society."

The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, established in 2005, is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It carries out various cultural arts education projects aimed at improving the quality of cultural life for citizens and strengthening national cultural capabilities.
