On the 11th, Air Busan announced that it will open and operate the ‘Air Busan Dream Campus’ to cultivate aviation specialists and expand the base of the aviation industry.
The Air Busan Dream Campus is a future aviation professional training program created in collaboration with Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency for students majoring in aviation-related fields in the Busan area and job seekers preparing for employment in the aviation sector.
It consists of a diverse and practical educational curriculum covering job experience needed on-site and the overall aviation industry.
The operation period is from this month through December.
The ‘On-site Job Experience’ program places participants in one of four desired fields?△Flight Operations △Maintenance △Cabin △General?in actual departments for one month of practical training.
Additionally, two programs are running, including a ‘Customized Education Course’ where participants receive education on the overall aviation industry for two months.
Air Busan plans to train a total of 160 participants through four sessions of on-site job experience, with 40 people per session, and select 50 participants for the customized education course, nurturing a total of 210 prospective aviation professionals this year.
In June, the first and second groups of on-site job experience trainees (training in July and August) were selected. The first group held an opening ceremony on the 8th and will be assigned to actual departments from the 12th to begin practical training and education in earnest.
The third and fourth groups of on-site job experience trainees (September and October) will be selected next month, and the customized education course trainees (training in November and December) will be selected in September.
Based on excellent educational facilities and outstanding aviation personnel, Air Busan provides job training and career development opportunities that are rarely experienced in provincial areas.
By allowing prospective aviation professionals residing in Busan to experience the jobs needed in the field, the program aims to further strengthen their employment competitiveness.
Air Busan CEO Ahn Byung-seok said, “We plan to share Air Busan’s know-how accumulated over the past 14 years,” adding, “We will operate the program so that prospective aviation professionals nurturing their dreams in Busan can become key players in the aviation industry.”
A representative from the Busan Economic Promotion Agency said, “When Gadeok New Airport opens, a significant number of aviation jobs will be created,” emphasizing, “We must prepare thoroughly through education and support.”
The three organizations plan to expand the operation of the ‘Air Busan Dream Campus’ starting next year.
Air Busan was the first domestic airline to implement the ‘No Landing Learning Flight,’ a new on-site experiential learning model suited for the With-Corona era, sparking interest in the aviation industry.
It also provides opportunities to explore aviation careers through the practical career experience program ‘Dream Classroom.’
