Haitian First Lady: "I Fired Bullets at My Husband in the Blink of an Eye"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunwoo Lee] Martine Mo?se, the First Lady of Haiti who was wounded alongside President Jovenel Mo?se during his assassination, has publicly shared her voice for the first time since the incident. Mrs. Mo?se stated that she will continue to communicate with the public through social networking services (SNS).
On the 10th (local time), according to foreign media including AFP, Mrs. Mo?se posted a voice message in Haitian Creole on the official Twitter account of the First Lady of Haiti. In the message, she said, "In the blink of an eye, assailants broke into our home and fired bullets at my husband without giving him a chance to say a word," adding, "I survived thanks to God, but I lost my husband."
Mrs. Mo?se continued, "I will not abandon you," promising to keep communicating directly with the people through SNS. She emphasized, "I cannot let this country lose its way. I cannot let my husband's blood be shed in vain."
The release of Mrs. Mo?se's voice came three days after the attack in the early hours of the 7th. President Mo?se was killed by gunfire from assailants who broke into his residence, and Mrs. Mo?se was also wounded and initially taken to a nearby hospital before being urgently transferred to a hospital in Miami, Florida, USA, where she is receiving treatment.

According to Haitian authorities, a total of 28 suspects were involved in the assassination, of whom 26 are Colombian and 2 are Haitian Americans. So far, 17 have been arrested and 3 were killed. Authorities are reportedly pursuing the remaining 8 suspects. The motive behind the assassination has not yet been revealed.
