Daegu 14 New Cases · Gyeongbuk 13 New Cases ... Double-Digit Increase in Confirmed Cases Due to Rising Infections
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] As the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) rapidly spreads mainly in the Seoul metropolitan area, cases are also surging in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
According to Daegu City on the 10th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases was 10,700, an increase of 14 from the previous day.
By residence, there were 4 in Buk-gu, 3 in Suseong-gu, 2 each in Dalseo-gu and Seo-gu, 2 in Incheon, and 1 in Busan. Confirmed cases residing in Incheon and Busan were reported to Daegu City and then transferred.
Among the additional confirmed cases, 7 had contact with existing confirmed patients, and 3 are under investigation for the source of infection. Two entered the country from overseas, and 2 are related to a nightlife establishment in Dalseo-gu, increasing the cumulative confirmed cases linked to the establishment to 6.
In Gyeongbuk, 13 new confirmed cases were added, bringing the total to 5,030.
By region, there were 3 each in Gumi and Mungyeong, 2 each in Pohang and Gyeongsan, and 1 each in Gyeongju, Gimcheon, and Yeongju. Among them, 3 in Mungyeong, 2 in Gyeongsan, 1 in Gumi, and 1 in Yeongju were contacts of existing infected persons.
One symptomatic individual each in Pohang and Gyeongju was confirmed positive after testing at screening clinics. Among the confirmed cases in Gumi, 2, and in Pohang, 1, and Gimcheon, 1 were confirmed positive after entering the country from overseas.
