Lee Jae-myung to Start Presidential Campaign Fundraising on the 9th: "We Will Build a New Republic of Korea"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Fundraising to support Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province and a candidate in the Democratic Party presidential primary, has begun.
The 'Lee Jae-myung Support Committee' announced that it launched an official online website at 9 a.m. on the 9th and started fundraising activities.
The fundraising websites are ▲www.이재명후원회.com (in Korean) ▲www.ljm4you.co (in English). When accessing the website, users are directed to a page displaying the phrase "Invest in a New Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung."
The official support account is with NongHyup Bank (301-0786-5225-51), and the account holder is "The Democratic Party Presidential Primary Candidate Lee Jae-myung Support Committee." The support committee office is located at Yeouido Jeongwon Building, Room 301 (02-786-5225).
The 'Lee Jae-myung Support Committee' stated that considering the recent spread of COVID-19, no separate launch ceremony will be held, and fundraising activities will proceed. They also plan to increase the number of support accounts to eight in the future.
Governor Lee also posted a message titled "We Invite Our Supporters" on his SNS, urging active participation in the fundraising.
In the post, Lee emphasized, "We are inviting precious supporters to help build a new Republic of Korea together. In this era of great transformation, we must overcome crises. It must be a new Republic of Korea that restores fairness and fosters economic growth."
He continued, "I have kept my promises and proven results. I will always listen carefully to even the smallest voices of the people with a responsible attitude. Your small support creates a new Republic of Korea. Please lend your strength. I promise to repay you with a better tomorrow and a better life."
However, foreigners, domestic and foreign corporations and organizations, and public officials are not allowed to participate in this fundraising.
Individuals can donate up to a maximum of 10 million KRW. For year-end tax settlement, donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully deductible, and amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW are eligible for a 15-25% tax credit.
