GH to Build 1,500-Unit 'Gyeonggi Happy Housing' in Dongtan 2 Residential Development District
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] A Gyeonggi Happy Housing complex with 1,500 households will be built in the Dongtan 2 New Town development area in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
The Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) announced that it held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 8th to build a Gyeonggi Happy Housing complex with 1,500 households on the A105BL site in the Hwaseong Dongtan 2 New Town development area.
GH will invest a total of 219.1 billion KRW in the 54,000㎡ site to construct a 20-story Happy Housing complex, aiming for occupancy in the first half of 2024.
Among the total 1,500 households, 1,200 units, including 510 for newlyweds, will be supplied to the youth demographic.
The complex will introduce a youth startup mall that provides startup spaces close to workplaces. This space is designed to support cultural artists and young entrepreneurs.
Additionally, the complex will include a daycare center, guesthouse, resident exercise facilities, and a healthcare center, offering high-quality housing comparable to sale apartments, differentiated from existing rental apartments.
Lee Heon-wook, president of GH, stated, "The Hwaseong Dongtan 2 A105BL Gyeonggi Happy Housing is located in an area with convenient transportation networks such as the Yongseo Expressway and the metropolitan high-speed railway, making access to downtown Seoul and the metropolitan area easy. We expect it to be highly preferred by newlyweds and young people."
