This event was planned with the purpose of creating a clean and healthy K League by raising football fans' environmental awareness and encouraging active participation in eco-friendly activities amid the growing social importance of ESG.
The event was held on the afternoon of the 7th at the Football Hall located in Sinmunno, Seoul, with attendees including Park Sung-ho, CEO of Hana Bank; Kwon Oh-gap, President of the Korea Professional Football Federation; Cho Heung-sik, Chairman of the Community Chest of Korea; and representatives from Hyundai Oilbank.
Hana Bank has produced eco-friendly web games and video content that K League fans can participate in, delivering everyday "carbon diet" cases in an easy and fun way. Participation missions are also being conducted to encourage eco-friendly practices to directly translate into daily life through fan participation certification. Additionally, Hana Bank and the Community Chest of Korea plan to create eco-friendly donations equivalent to the amount of carbon reduced by measuring fan participation missions, the carbon emissions of K League clubs, and the reduction of disposable items in stadiums. To this end, related regulations will be improved to actively encourage the use of personal tumblers inside K League stadiums.
The raised donations will be used for eco-friendly education and participation activities aimed at enhancing environmental sensitivity among children and youth in K League home regions. Furthermore, Hyundai Oilbank will produce merchandising products by recycling waste plastics generated from the K League.
