On the 8th, Colonel Choi, the father of Chairman Choi, passed away, and a funeral hall was set up at Yonsei University Severance Hospital. He was 93 years old.
Colonel Choi participated in the Battle of the Korea Strait during the Korean War, achieving great merit by sinking a 1000-ton North Korean armed transport ship. Since then, the Choi family has been known as a military family, with all members serving in the military.
Recently, Choi, the second son of Colonel Choi and former Chairman, announced his intention to enter politics and is considered a leading opposition presidential candidate. The bereaved family includes former Chairman Choi, former Korea Development President Choi Jae-shin, Director of Choi Jae-min Pediatric Hospital Choi Jae-min, and Gwangju University Professor Choi Jae-wan.
