View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol stated on the 6th during a meeting with media from the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions regarding his wife Kim Geon-hee's interview, "I don't think it was wrong, and I suppose she also wanted to say what she wanted to say."
At the meeting with reporters that day, Yoon said, "When I asked, she said she had a phone call with a reporter from a certain media outlet and said what she wanted to say."
Earlier, Kim conducted a media interview directly refuting rumors related to her past. In political circles, it was viewed that it would have been better if Kim had not responded directly. Kwon Seong-dong, a member of the People Power Party, appeared on TBS Radio and said, "If it had been coordinated with the campaign, such an interview probably would not have come out," adding, "It seems that the interview was conducted independently of the campaign." Member Hong Joon-pyo also referred to it as "a fatal mistake."

When asked how the fairness advocated by former Prosecutor General Yoon differs from that of Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, he said, "Leader Lee's sense of fairness also has merit," and added, "The feeling of unfairness among the younger generation is thought to stem from the perception that competition in fields like college entrance exams or employment does not result in fair rewards based on fair standards." He continued, "There is also the issue of whether our country's citizens receive fair opportunities throughout their entire life cycle," stating, "From monthly rent to jeonse to owning a home, moving to better housing and transferring to better-paying jobs?what is commonly called the ladder?do people really receive fair opportunities throughout their life cycle?" He emphasized, "We need to establish a fairness system not only in specific areas but for the entire nation and throughout the life cycle."
