Gwangju Seo-gu, Vaccination Center Relocated to Bitgoeul Gymnasium
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Seo-gu District Office of Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 5th that starting from the 7th, the COVID-19 vaccination center will be relocated from the existing Yeomju Sports Complex to Bitgoeul Sports Complex to carry out vaccinations.
Seo-gu had been conducting vaccinations at Yeomju Sports Complex since April 1st, but due to facility renovation work related to events hosted by Gwangju City, the vaccination center will be moved to Bitgoeul Sports Complex for operation.
Prior to the relocation, vaccination center facilities were established at Bitgoeul Sports Complex, and before opening, joint safety inspections and drills were conducted with related organizations such as Gwangju City, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and the Electrical Safety Corporation to check fire safety, electrical systems, and other safety standards based on vaccination center installation criteria.
Seo-gu will proceed with preparations to ensure there are no disruptions in the operation of the vaccination center.

Meanwhile, the vaccination center has completed first doses for 17,147 people and second doses for 15,423 people, targeting elderly facilities and those aged 75 and older, as well as essential workers under 30. This month, vaccinations are planned for those aged 60 to 74 who made advance reservations, essential workers under 30, and high school seniors and teachers.
