View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 2nd that it held an on-site meeting and policy mentoring for the future development of small and medium enterprises and regional industrial innovation at the Gunpo Industrial Promotion Agency in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi Province, together with Lee Hak-young, chairman of the Industry, Trade, and Small and Medium Venture Business Committee.
The meeting, organized by Chairman Lee Hak-young and SBC in cooperation with Gunpo-si, was attended by 12 representatives of promising companies in the Korean New Deal sector and small and medium-sized materials, parts, and equipment companies located in Gunpo-si, including Lee In-seok, CEO of VCTech, and Joo Don-su, CEO of IMedicom.
The business leaders proposed policy support to expand growth opportunities and establish a growth ecosystem foundation for small and medium enterprises in future new industries such as digital, non-face-to-face, and green energy. They also voiced difficulties in securing specialized personnel in new industries such as smart factories and financial challenges due to rising prices of raw and subsidiary materials.
Chairman Lee Hak-young said, "Through the meeting, I was able to feel the necessity to expand policies and projects to foster local companies, create quality jobs, respond to eco-friendly and low-carbon challenges, and secure growth engines," adding, "As the chairman of the National Assembly’s Industry, Trade, and Small and Medium Business Committee, I will actively consult with the government to promptly resolve the difficulties faced by small and medium enterprises and strive to create a balanced industrial ecosystem so that more opportunities can be given in new industry sectors."
