CJ CheilJedang Launches Two New 'Gourmet Premium Pizza' Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ CheilJedang has expanded its ‘Gourmet Premium Pizza’ lineup to grow the frozen pizza market.
CJ CheilJedang announced on the 2nd that it has launched two new Gourmet Premium Pizza products: ‘Gourmet Chili Hotdog Pizza’ and ‘Gourmet Garlic Bacon Cheese Pizza.’
The ‘Gourmet Chili Hotdog Pizza’ features the iconic American street food, chili hotdog, on top of the pizza. The ‘Gourmet Garlic Bacon Cheese Pizza’ is characterized by the ‘sweet and salty’ flavor created by cheddar mozzarella cheese and garlic cream sauce, along with the distinctive smoky aroma of bacon.
Both products apply CJ CheilJedang’s fermentation technology-based ‘3-step fermentation aging’ process, achieving a ‘breathing dough’ with hand-stretched dough that is soft, fluffy, and chewy. The method involves chefs adding fresh ingredients to their own secret sauces, enhancing the flavors of various sauces. With this new product launch, the ‘Gourmet Premium Pizza’ lineup now includes five varieties: the existing ‘Gourmet Margherita Pizza,’ ‘Gourmet Chili Gambas Pizza,’ and ‘Gourmet Quattro Formaggi Pizza.’
Since its launch in December last year, the ‘Gourmet Premium Pizza’ has sold approximately 2.5 million units through June this year, showing continuous growth. Marketing activities under the slogan ‘Delicious pizza you won’t find at restaurants, only at Gourmet’ have helped the product gain rapid recognition through word of mouth, being evaluated as a differentiated product from existing frozen pizzas.

CJ CheilJedang plans to take a leading role in changing existing consumer perceptions of frozen pizza with this lineup expansion. A CJ CheilJedang official said, “‘Gourmet Premium Pizza’ is a product that secures taste quality based on differentiated technology and professional chef recipes,” adding, “We will expand the portfolio focusing on trendy menus that meet consumer expectations and demands to grow the market.”
