SK Energy Joins Korea Electric Power's Roaming Platform ChargeLink to Provide Car Life Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and SK Energy have joined forces to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in South Korea.
On the 1st, KEPCO and SK Energy announced that they signed a business agreement at SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to jointly develop services aimed at boosting the domestic EV market. Through this agreement, both companies plan to leverage their respective capabilities to enhance the convenience and economic efficiency of EV usage for corporate and general customers by concretizing joint cooperation projects.
KEPCO, the largest EV charging infrastructure operator in South Korea, manages ChargeLink, the country's largest roaming platform among charging operators. ChargeLink is a service that connects major domestic EV charging operators and users, allowing EV charging operators to use partner companies’ chargers even in areas where they do not have their own charging stations.
SK Energy is currently building a Total Car Life Platform that provides economical and convenient services across the entire value chain of eco-friendly vehicles, including purchase, charging, car care, and used car sales.
The two companies agreed to collaborate in areas such as ▲ developing corporate charging services for commercial vehicles like transport companies to expand K-EV1002) adoption ▲ developing diverse and differentiated charging solutions to improve charging convenience for EV customers ▲ developing and demonstrating new services based on eco-friendly distributed energy (V2G·VPP).
Additionally, SK Energy plans to participate in KEPCO’s roaming platform, ChargeLink, to offer SK Energy’s Car Life services to customers of KEPCO and roaming partners, thereby providing various services beyond just charging to EV charging customers.
