Hamyang-gun to Implement COVID-19 Social Distancing Level 1 Starting July 1
Application of a 2-Week Implementation Period and Strengthening of Some Quarantine Rules
Private Gathering Size Limit Lifted · Religious Facilities Limited to 50%
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that starting from July 1, it will apply a new Level 1 social distancing measure based on autonomy and responsibility in accordance with the government's reorganization plan.
However, some quarantine rules will be strengthened, such as periodic proactive testing for entertainment facility workers (once every two weeks) and prohibition of meals and lodging organized by religious facilities, with a two-week implementation period until July 14 to apply the reorganization plan.
The main points of Level 1 include no restrictions on the number of private gatherings, and for multi-use facilities, maintaining at least 1 meter distance or limiting the number of people to one per 6㎡ of facility area.
Indoor sports facilities such as kids cafes, sports gyms, and GX (group exercise) will limit the number of people to one per 4㎡ of facility area, and movie theaters, performance halls, and PC rooms will no longer require seat spacing.
Gatherings, events, and assemblies are allowed while complying with basic quarantine rules, but events with more than 500 people must establish a quarantine plan and report and consult with the county in advance, and assemblies and demonstrations with more than 500 people are prohibited.
For religious facilities, participation in regular worship, mass, Buddhist services, and memorial ceremonies is allowed up to 50% of seating capacity, vaccinated persons are excluded from the capacity count, and small gatherings can operate only if composed of fully vaccinated persons; however, meals and lodging organized by religious facilities are prohibited during the two-week implementation period.
Regarding mask-wearing, it is mandatory indoors and outdoors when a distance of 2 meters or more from others cannot be maintained, and fines are imposed for violations; however, those who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination and 14 days have passed are exempt from the mask-wearing obligation during outdoor activities except in cases of gatherings, performances, and events where many people are concentrated.
Violations of quarantine rules will result in fines of up to 100,000 KRW for users and up to 3 million KRW for facility managers, exclusion from various supports such as disaster relief funds, and strict punishment and measures under a zero-tolerance policy including claims for damages if intentional violations are confirmed.
