Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin is holding a meeting to mark the third anniversary of his inauguration at Daegu City Hall on the 30th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jucheol In] Kwon Young-jin, Mayor of Daegu, said on the 30th, "During the remaining one year of the 7th elected term, we will open a new future for Daegu through uninterrupted innovation."
At the 3rd anniversary meeting of the 7th elected term held at Daegu City Hall on the same day, Mayor Kwon emphasized, "Despite various difficulties, with perseverance and passion, all three major long-standing projects that had not seen any solution for decades have been resolved."
The three major long-standing projects specifically refer to the construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk integrated new airport, the construction of the new city hall building, and the relocation of the water intake source.
He added, "We have prepared a turning point to drastically transform Daegu's industrial structure by focusing on fostering future new industries such as the water industry, medical industry, and robotics industry."
Along with this, he cited significant achievements such as spatial structure innovation including the development of the Seodaegu station area, citizen participation in city administration, overcoming the COVID-19 crisis, and win-win cooperation represented by the Yeong-Ho-nam Moonlight Alliance.
As remaining tasks, Mayor Kwon listed the smooth promotion of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk integrated new airport construction, the construction of airport connection railroads, and the development of the rear site as top priorities.
He also presented talent cultivation, landmarking the new city hall building, balanced development and future city construction, and Daegu-Gyeongbuk integration as tasks.
He stated, "Based on the achievements of the past seven years, I will devote myself to implementing the remaining tasks," and added, "I ask for your unwavering support and participation."
Regarding his challenge for a third term, Mayor Kwon said, "Now is the time for the presidential election, not the local election," and "I am meeting many people and contemplating. I will gradually find out which path I will take."
Regarding the spirit of the presidential election era, he suggested 'fairness' and 'growth,' saying, "Fair growth will be the era's task going forward."
