After attending the 'Chosun Ilbo Asian Leadership Conference' held at the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, Yoon told reporters, "Today was actually the first time I met (Leader Lee)," adding, "We exchanged greetings and agreed to meet again in the near future."
He avoided giving a direct answer to questions regarding 'joining the party.' When declaring his political participation the day before, Yoon mentioned, "In terms of political philosophy, the People Power Party and I share the same views," leaving open the possibility of joining the party.
Yoon added, "We couldn't have a deeper conversation because the situation wasn't right."
Leader Lee also told the press, "Since we were at the same table, we basically exchanged greetings and pleasantries, and (Yoon) expressed the intention to meet soon," adding, "The official channel for the People Power Party is Representative Kwon Young-se, so I expect they will communicate first, and if we have anything to discuss separately, we will probably meet afterward."
Leader Lee spoke positively about Yoon. He explained, "From the content of Yoon's announcement, it was clear which people and forces he intends to work with, so as the opposition party, it was quite reassuring," adding, "There is great expectation, and since he pointed out the failures of the Moon Jae-in administration in a very concrete way and expressed his own will, I think the younger generation also resonated strongly with that attitude."

However, Leader Lee's stance on the 'bus theory' remained unchanged. He said, "The bus must depart on time no matter what," adding, "There were discussions about changing the primary schedule in the Democratic Party as well, but looking at the results, parties must maintain their center, and the People Power Party is no different from the Democratic Party in that regard."
