[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 30th that it plans to complete the first dose of vaccination for 2.32 million people, which is 70% of the entire population, by the end of September and form herd immunity by November.
By June 29, 1 million residents had received the first dose, and the vaccination rate relative to the provincial population is 30.3%, exceeding the national average.
From July, those aged 60 to 74 who have not completed AstraZeneca vaccination, high school seniors and college entrance exam candidates, high school faculty and staff (43,000 people), and daycare, kindergarten, and elementary to secondary school faculty and staff will receive the Pfizer vaccine at vaccination centers or designated medical institutions.
From July 26 to early August, people in their 50s (ages 50?59) will begin vaccination, and only those who have made advance reservations will be vaccinated.
In early August, vaccination will be conducted in order of advance reservation for those aged 40 and under (18?49), who have a low rate of severe COVID-19 cases.
In particular, three vaccination methods (voluntary, on-site, and mixed) will be implemented in the third quarter.
First, 190,000 eligible people in the province will be selected and voluntary vaccination will be promoted.
Second, to improve accessibility to vaccination sites for workers, on-site vaccination will be conducted at workplaces operating 24 hours.
