At a meeting with reporters after the 'In-depth Survey Results National Report Conference' held in Yeouido, Seoul, Hong responded to a question about former Prosecutor General Yoon, saying, "It would be good to participate in the primary schedule while engaging in policy debates and moral verification."
During his closing remarks at the National Report Conference that day, Hong also brought up former Prosecutor General Yoon. He said, "Reporters ask me about Yoon Seok-yeol when we meet, but I don't even know what the X-file is," adding, "I don't know Yoon Seok-yeol well either."
He continued, "Song Young-gil, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said I know the X-file well, but the shocking thing is that if he knows, he would know better himself," and criticized, "Suddenly, they try to attack me and slip away themselves, which is absurd."
When some suggested that Hong should refrain from criticizing candidates outside the party, he seemed to be aware of this. In response to the question, "You said on Facebook that governing the country is not easy. Do you think former Prosecutor General Yoon will demonstrate such (governing) ability?" Hong avoided a direct answer, saying, "You should ask former Prosecutor General Yoon that."
Meanwhile, the in-depth report announced by Hong that day contained an analysis based on in-depth interviews conducted with over 8,000 people nationwide from August last year to January this year. It combined the so-called 'snowflake' model introduced by former U.S. President Barack Obama in his election campaign and the one-on-one visit survey method of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Based on the in-depth report, Hong is preparing a 'Future Vision Book' that contains the spirit of the times and a future vision. It is planned to be announced in line with his declaration of candidacy for the presidential election.
