View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol declared his candidacy for the presidential election on the 29th at the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Former Prosecutor General Yoon stated, "The Moon Jae-in administration threw away common sense, fairness, and the rule of law, destroying the foundation of the country," as he announced his presidential bid.
Hundreds of supporters of former Prosecutor General Yoon gathered at the press conference, demonstrating strong interest. They surrounded him, chanting "President Yoon Seok-yeol." Along the approximately 100-meter path from Yangjae Citizen's Park Station to the Maehun Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall, where the press conference was held, wreaths were displayed.
Twenty-four members of the People Power Party, including Kwon Seong-dong, Jeong Jin-seok, Lee Jong-bae, Yoon Joo-kyung, and Kim Seong-won, also attended. Former Prosecutor General Yoon told the party members, "I will devote all my efforts together to rebuild this broken country."
