Gwangju Buk-gu, Diverse Programs to Revitalize Local Art Tourism
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 29th that it will operate various experience programs to revitalize local art tourism at the "Delicious Art Travel Center."
The programs prepared this time will be operated from July to October.
First, the "Delicious Art Picnic" involves a lunchbox-making experience at the Namdo Local Food Museum, followed by a cultural and artistic tour at the Gwangju Biennale and Jungoe Park.
The "Outing to the Lake Ecological Garden with a Photographer" includes visiting the Gwangjuho Lake Ecological Garden to learn how to take life photos and enjoying a fusion traditional performance at Hwanbyeokdang, providing time to enjoy the city's cultural area.
Additionally, from August 3rd to August 28th, every Saturday evening at the Biennale Exhibition Hall Plaza, various busking performances will be presented in connection with the Buk-gu Media Facade Cultural Concert.
Applications for the experience programs can be submitted through the Gwangju Tourism Association website, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the Buk-gu Office Sports and Tourism Division or the Gwangju Tourism Association.
Meanwhile, Buk-gu is currently establishing the Delicious Art Travel Center on the first floor of the Namdo Local Food Museum with a budget of 600 million won secured from last year's Gwangju City public contest. The center will include a traveler’s lounge, storage, exhibition and promotion spaces, and an outdoor terrace.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for August, and going forward, the center plans to support the activities of local tourism companies and artists and operate demand-centered tourism programs, focusing on revitalizing art tourism.
