[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seongbuk-gu Saemaeul Women's Association carried out a side dish sharing volunteer service.
On the 23rd, the side dish sharing volunteer service held at the Seongbuk Women's Center cooking class was participated by about 10 members, including the president and executives of the Seongbuk-gu Saemaeul Women's Association, in order to practice social distancing.
They made five types of side dishes, including stir-fried dried shredded squid (jinmichae bokkeum) and cucumber and seaweed cold soup, and delivered them to seven welfare facilities for women and single-parent families. One participant said, "I put all my heart into my cooking skills, thinking about the health of marginalized neighbors during the summer."
Jo Young-nam, president of the Seongbuk-gu Saemaeul Women's Association, expressed, "Although it is a small gesture, I hope it brings hope to overcome COVID-19 to neighbors in need."
The Seongbuk-gu Saemaeul Women's Association has been leading efforts to create a warm Seongbuk by embracing marginalized neighbors and sharing affection through activities such as side dish volunteer service and sharing kimchi for love during the winter season.

Lee Seung-ro, mayor of Seongbuk-gu, who usually carefully oversees the side dish volunteer sites and supports resident activities for marginalized neighbors, also visited the Seongbuk Women's Center site this time, wearing an apron and taking charge of vegetable preparation.
