[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] To provide physical education to students with disabilities, the Korea National University of Education-affiliated Physical Education Middle and High School for Special Education will open in March 2025.
On the 28th, the Ministry of Education announced that Korea National University of Education was selected as the university to establish the nation's first specialized physical education school for students with disabilities. The Ministry confirmed a budget support plan of 46.4 billion KRW.
The Korea National University of Education-affiliated Physical Education Special School will recruit students with disabilities nationwide who have talent in the field of physical education and operate an educational program to nurture sports talents and professional athletes with disabilities.
They will construct school buildings for 21 middle and high school classes, dormitory buildings, and a gymnasium equipped with a swimming pool.

Jeon Jin-seok, Director of Student Support at the Ministry of Education, said, "We will actively support Korea National University of Education to create a new model of special education that considers the talents of students with disabilities."
