Autonomous Driving, Aerospace, and Other Sector Companies Included in This Year's 'KOSDAQ Rising Star' Announcement
Exemption of Listing Fees and Various Supports Including Publication of Corporate Analysis Reports
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The Korea Exchange has announced the list of this year's KOSDAQ 'Rising Stars,' which includes companies possessing innovative technologies in future growth industries such as autonomous driving and aerospace.
On the 28th, the Exchange revealed that it has selected 35 KOSDAQ-listed companies as the '2021 KOSDAQ Rising Stars.' Rising Stars are companies that have either a strong market dominance in the global market or a high domestic market share in innovative industries, showing potential to grow into global enterprises.
Since 2009, the Exchange has annually selected such Rising Star companies through quantitative and qualitative evaluations, followed by a selection committee composed of external experts.
Selected companies receive benefits such as annual fee support, exemption from listing fees, hosting of investor relations (IR) sessions, publication of corporate analysis reports, and support for establishing internal accounting control systems.
Starting this year, the Exchange plans to enhance the recognition and pride of selected companies by adopting the slogan "Next-generation leading companies driving innovative growth, KOSDAQ Rising Stars."
An Exchange official explained, "However, the KOSDAQ Rising Stars program is a project aimed at discovering and nurturing companies with excellent technology and growth potential," adding, "The Exchange does not recommend investment in these stocks."
