[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] The Gyeongnam Miryang Cultural Foundation announced on the 24th that it held the final report meeting for the Miryang Arirang research and record preservation activation project to lead the future of Arirang.
At the report meeting, the research project on the Miryang Arirang database and the publication of two types of transmission genealogy were explained, and utilization plans were discussed.
Until now, it has been difficult to identify the existence of Miryang Arirang materials domestically and internationally, and since they were not categorized, it was challenging to compile the data.
However, with the establishment of the database and the publication of the data collection this time, a significant foundation has been laid to expand the cultural horizon of Miryang Arirang.
The data collection consists of four chapters: data abstracts, recordings, North Korean transmission, and overseas transmission. In the case of data abstracts, literary materials such as the Miryang Arirang lyrics book were recorded in chronological order of publication.
The recordings were organized using archive metadata technology methods, including sound sources such as SP and EP records and video materials. For North Korean transmission, it includes an introduction to North Korean Arirang and representative Miryang Arirang lyrics, making it easy to understand the transmission and variation patterns.
The overseas transmission explains the influence on locals during the process of accepting Miryang Arirang in foreign countries.
Based on this database, the Miryang Arirang archive has been established, providing abundant information about Miryang Arirang and enabling it to lead the future of Arirang.
