View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yuseonghun, the mayor of Geumcheon-gu, sent letters of appreciation to over 2,200 national veterans of Geumcheon-gu in honor of Veterans Month.
In the letter, Mayor Yuseonghun expressed, “We are grateful for the noble sacrifices and dedication of the heroes who devoted their bodies and minds to reclaim the country, protect the homeland, and secure a better tomorrow for us all.” He added, “Geumcheon-gu will continue the patriotic spirit of overcoming history together and will strive even harder to ensure the comfortable living and welfare improvement of the veterans.”

Additionally, on June 23, he visited the Geumcheon-gu War Veterans Memorial with heads of veterans’ organizations to conduct environmental maintenance. He also visited the home of Seol Yunja (age 76), the wife of Vietnam War veteran Chae Heetae (deceased 1995), and respectfully presented a nameplate designating the house as that of a national veteran, expressing respect and honor.
