Korean Senior Dancers Kim Maeja, Bae Jeonghye, and Guk Suho Unite for 'Myeonbyeok' Performance Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The complex dance institution Changmu Arts Center announced on the 21st that veteran Korean dancers Kim Maeja, Bae Jeonghye, and Guk Suho will perform at the Crown Haitai Hall in Namsan Gugakdang, Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 8th and 9th of next month.
The name of this performance is "Myeonbyeok (面壁)," symbolizing the hardships encountered again on an endless path. The message from these veteran artists, who take another step forward on a pathless road in front of that wall, is that our perception must now shift from "selfish survival" to "altruistic life."
The three veteran artists participating in this performance previously created a great impact in 2013 by appearing in each other's choreographed works in "Dance Opening Tomorrow."
In this performance, the three choreographers will present individual works that repeat meetings and partings through themes representing their respective seasons. Additionally, they aim to embody the message of life through a jointly composed and performed piece titled "Myeonbyeok." A total of four works will be performed, each with a seasonal concept, and the music will be performed live.
