Collaboration with Local Farmers 'Gyeongju Cherry Promotion'
Contributing to the Promotion and Market Expansion of Regional Specialties
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Kolon Hotel announced on the 11th that it will carry out the 'Gyeongju Cherry Promotion' in collaboration with local farmers as part of its win-win activities.
The hotel explained this collaboration by saying, "It was prepared to leverage Kolon Hotel’s identity, which has promoted Gyeongju through collaborations with various cultural assets and tourist sites for 43 years, to introduce the regional specialty 'Gyeongju Cherry' to hotel visitors and contribute to coexistence with local farmers." They added, "We plan to showcase Gyeongju cherries, which boast the largest production volume nationwide along with optimal sweetness and rich juice, in various ways combined with 'hokangseu' (hotel + vacation)."
All products sold during the collaboration period consist of high-quality cherries directly cultivated by farmer Kim Jeongsuk, who has devoted 20 years to cherry farming in Gyeongju. Since they are harvested and sold directly from the production site, they are fresh.
At the Kolon Hotel lobby, two types of 'Gyeongju Tohamsan Cherry' produced by farmer Kim Jeongsuk on the day will be sold until the 18th. The yellow-colored 'Rainier Cherry,' which has about 30% higher sweetness than regular cherries and is perfect for stimulating the appetite in summer, and the 'Bing Cherry,' which has firm and rich flesh with a chewy texture, are available for 12,000 KRW per 500g. For customers visiting from long distances, advance order reservations are also possible.
At the restaurant 'Panorama,' food and beverage menus using cherries will be sold for a limited time until the 30th. The menu consists of three items: cherry ade, cherry green tea pound cake, and cherry cream cheese bread. In addition, through a bakery renewal, newly introduced items such as Neungi mushroom bread, roll cheese ciabatta, roll cheese bread, pecan bread, cream cheese bread, and domestically produced red bean bread can also be enjoyed.
