Silicon Works to Change Company Name to 'LX Semicon'
[Asia Economy Reporter Woo Su-yeon] Silicon Works, a subsidiary of LX Holdings, a newly established holding company spun off from LG Group, is planning to change its name to 'LX Semicon.'
On the 10th, Silicon Works announced through the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system that it will convene an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on the 25th of this month with the agenda of 'Amendment of Articles of Incorporation' for the purpose of changing the company name in Korean and English.
The proposed new Korean name is 'Jusikhoesa LX Semicon' and the English name is 'LX Semicon Co., Ltd.'
The new name 'LX Semicon' will be finalized through a resolution at the Silicon Works extraordinary general meeting to be held at Lotte City Hotel in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon on the 25th of this month. The amended articles of incorporation approved at the extraordinary general meeting will take effect from July 1.

A Silicon Works official said, "We are promoting the name change to LX Semicon, which intuitively expresses that we are a semiconductor company, in order to leap forward as a global top system semiconductor company."
