Former BTOB Member Jung Il-hoon Sentenced to 2 Years in First Trial for Marijuana Inhalation
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Jung Ilhoon, a former member of the idol group BTOB, who was prosecuted for repeatedly inhaling marijuana, was sentenced to prison in the first trial and was detained in court.
The Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 22 (Chief Judge Yang Cheolhan) sentenced Jung to 2 years in prison and ordered a fine of approximately 133 million KRW on the 10th for violating the Narcotics Control Act. Jung, who was on bail during the trial, was detained in court as a prison sentence was handed down.

Jung was prosecuted in April this year on charges of purchasing and inhaling marijuana worth about 133 million KRW a total of 161 times from 2016 to 2019. The prosecution previously requested a prison sentence of 4 years and a fine of about 133 million KRW at the sentencing hearing.
