According to the People Power Party, Kim Ki-hyun, the acting party leader and floor leader, said at a closed-door party strategy meeting on the morning of the 10th, "We will wait for the Board of Audit and Inspection's official response, but if that proves difficult, shouldn't we prioritize discussing the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission?"
The floor leadership, including Acting Leader Kim, still harbors doubts about whether the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's full-scale investigation would be fair. This is because they cannot trust the impartiality of the police and the Commission. In particular, regarding the Commission, it is interpreted that they have concluded there is a high possibility of political bias since Jeon Hyun-hee, the Chairperson of the Commission, is a former Democratic Party lawmaker.
The request for a full-scale investigation to the Board of Audit and Inspection the previous day was intended to rely on the most impartial institution possible. Floor Spokesperson Jeon Ju-hye explained, "What we keep emphasizing is that we want to be investigated by a fair investigative agency."
However, there is internal opposition within the party regarding the decision to request an investigation by the Board of Audit and Inspection. On the same day, Representative Jang Je-won said on Facebook, "The People Power Party insisting on receiving a full-scale investigation from the Board of Audit and Inspection looks somewhat clumsy," and added, "I urge the party leadership to promptly withdraw the request for the Board of Audit and Inspection's investigation and take reasonable measures so that lawmakers can undergo a full-scale investigation into real estate speculation as soon as possible." Going a step further, Representative Jeong Jin-seok emphasized, "I believe the People Power Party should also confidently and proudly undergo the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's real estate verification."

The floor leadership plans to formalize consideration of requesting the Commission's investigation after receiving the Board of Audit and Inspection's official stance. Floor Deputy Leader Chu Kyung-ho said in a phone interview with Yonhap News, "We will discuss requesting a full-scale investigation from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission," and added, "If there is a better way to undergo a proper investigation, we will consider that as well."
