Hamyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center Operates Flower Experience Education to Foster Children's Emotional Well-being

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 9th, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it has started the 'Children's Flower Experience Education' for about 20 children at the Agricultural Technology Center's Subtropical Plant Garden.
The children's flower experience education program includes time to directly touch and observe bananas, papayas, apple mangoes, etc. in the Subtropical Plant Garden, as well as making flower hot air balloons and Zentangle art using the positive healing functions of flowers.
To foster children's emotional development, applications were accepted from local daycare centers, kindergartens, and lower-grade elementary school students, and the program is scheduled to be held 20 times from June to October, reaching about 400 participants.
Additionally, tactile flower pot making by directly planting and caring for summer flowers grown in the flower nursery within the Agricultural Technology Center, seed sowing, and agricultural product harvesting experiences such as blueberries will also be conducted.
In particular, flower utilization experience education using fresh flowers produced by local flower farming households is intended to help flower farmers who are struggling due to flower consumption and price declines and to promote a culture of everyday flower use.
