KOTRA Holds 2-Week 'Online and Offline Korean Product Exhibition' in Tokyo, Osaka, and Other Japanese Cities
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Considering the resurgence of the Korean Wave in Japan, KOTRA announced on the 8th that it will hold a 'Korean Product Exhibition' encompassing both online and offline platforms in Japan for two weeks starting from the 7th.
This event consists of programs such as an online exhibition hall, video consultation meetings, offline promotional events at shopping malls, and seminars on entering the Japanese market. About 200 domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies are participating in this event, with KOTRA's Japan regional trade offices involved, focusing on the Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka areas.
Online, consumer goods will be promoted using e-commerce companies Amazon and Rakuten, as well as the crowdfunding platform Makuake. Offline, Korean products will be promoted and sold in connection with promotional events at Osaka Marui and Fukuoka Parco shopping malls. In Fukuoka, a space will be prepared in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization and the Japanese travel agency HIS where visitors can experience and consume Korean dramas, music, beauty products, and more.

KOTRA explained that last month it held a seminar introducing △how to enter the Japanese home shopping channel QVC and crowdfunding platform Makuake △and the purchasing policies of major buyers. This was to help participating companies understand the Japanese market in advance before engaging in video consultations. Ryu Jaewon, Head of KOTRA's Trade Infrastructure Division, said, "We will actively support our SMEs and mid-sized companies who are facing difficulties in overseas business trips due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic."
