Naju City Selects Winners for 'No Smoking and Moderate Drinking Slogan Contest'
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 4th that it held an awards ceremony for the ‘Anti-Smoking and Alcohol Moderation Slogan Contest’ conducted for elementary school students in the area.
This contest was promoted to foster healthy lifestyle habits during adolescence and to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking and drinking. Until the 14th of last month, a slogan contest of about 20 characters was held under the theme of ‘Harms of Smoking and Drinking and Practice of Anti-Smoking and Alcohol Moderation.’
Out of a total of 43 submissions, 15 works were selected as award candidates through a judging committee, and then 9 winning works were finally selected through citizen voting at multi-use facilities such as the Public Health Center, Naju Station, and Naju General Hospital.
As a result of judging and voting, the slogan by Lee Seo-jin, a first grader at Jungang Elementary School, which raises awareness of the dangers of smoking, “Smoke NO Go to the Sky NO, Quit Smoking GO Be Healthy GO,” won the grand prize.
Excellence awards went to students Jo Min-jun (“The cigarette smoke my dad smokes is like car exhaust”), Lee Eun-sol (“White smoke makes black lungs”), and Park Song-yeon (“Increasing alcohol and cigarettes, decreasing your life”).
Encouragement awards were given to Park Si-yeon (“Stop alcohol and cigarettes, start a healthy life”), Jeong Han-bit (“If you smoke, you will disappear like smoke”), Choi Ji-an (“My future self, children worry”), Moon Chae-i (“Will you trade one puff of cigarette for one breath of fresh air?”), and Moon Ye-seol (“Cigarettes learned for style, health found through reflection”).
The awards ceremony was held non-face-to-face for the excellence and encouragement award winners except for the grand prize winner to prevent COVID-19, and certificates and small prizes were awarded.
The winning works will be used in campaigns, education, and promotional activities related to anti-smoking and alcohol moderation conducted by the Public Health Center.
