Jayong Sunim Donates 2 Million Won to Talent Development Fund
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Dutasa Temple, located in Yongnam-myeon, Tongyeong, Gyeongnam, visited Tongyeong City Hall on the 3rd and donated 2 million won to be used for nurturing local talents.
Jayuong, the head monk of Dutasa, said, "I believe that creating an environment where students can study hard is the most important Buddhist work, especially in difficult times for everyone," and added, "I am pleased to deliver the talent development fund with the Buddhists for the talents of Tongyeong City."
Jayuong received the Compassion Award at the 39th Correction Awards Ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Justice on the 27th of last month.
In addition, since 2004, Jayuong has continuously supported the Tongyeong Detention Center inmates by donating goods worth about 15 million won and consolation money.
Moreover, since 2019, he has been providing scholarships of 1 million won to support students from financially disadvantaged families.
