Gyeongnam 119 Special Rescue Team Pays Tribute at Memorial for Fallen Firefighters of Jirisan
Employees of the Gyeongnam Fire Department Air Rescue and Ambulance Team are paying their respects at the memorial monument for the Gyeongnam Fire Department Air Rescue Team members located in Jirisan, Sancheong-gun.

Through this memorial visit, they honored the spirits of the fallen employees and pledged to ensure the safe operation of fire helicopters in the future.
Previously, on August 9, 1996, a fire helicopter that went out to rescue stranded hikers crashed due to severe weather, resulting in the loss of seven precious lives, including pilot Kim Yubok.
Since then, the remains of the fallen firefighters were interred at Daejeon National Cemetery, and a memorial stone was erected near the accident site.
