Hyundai Avante N Debuts at Germany N?rburgring 24-Hour Endurance Race
Elantra·i20 N Debut Match
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 3rd that the Elantra N TCR (domestic name Avante N TCR) and i20 N will make their debut at the '2021 N?rburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race' held over two days starting on the 5th (local time) at the N?rburgring in Germany.
The N?rburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race is a competition where the vehicle that covers the greatest distance in 24 hours wins. The N?rburgring circuit, with a total length of 25 km, is nicknamed the 'Green Hell' due to its narrow track width, severe elevation changes, and unseen sharp curves, creating a harsh driving environment.
Accordingly, the completion rate of the 24-hour endurance race usually remains around 60-70%. Last year, out of 97 participating vehicles, only 74 successfully finished. Hyundai, participating for the sixth time this year, plans to demonstrate excellent durability and driving performance by entering the i30 N TCR and Elantra N TCR in the TCR class and the i20 N in the SP2T class.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, Hyundai will provide a 24-hour live streaming service of the race starting at 10:30 PM on the 5th through the Hyundai N brand website. Especially from this year, an onboard camera broadcast has been newly added, allowing viewers to experience the vivid sensation as if they are riding directly in the race car.
