[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Jung-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, received the highest rating (SA) for three consecutive years in the '2021 Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation' conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
With this, Mayor Lee was recognized as the local government head who keeps promises best, having received the highest evaluation for three consecutive years during his term, starting with the highest rating for the 7th local election pledge implementation plan and continuing through this pledge fulfillment evaluation.
The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters evaluated 226 basic local governments nationwide from February, assessing five areas for 2020: ▲Pledge Fulfillment Completion ▲Goal Achievement ▲Resident Communication ▲Web Communication ▲Pledge Consistency, rated across five grades from SA to D.
As a result of the evaluation, Gangdong-gu's pledge fulfillment rate during the 7th local election was 73.2%, significantly higher than the national average of 54.1% among 226 basic local governments, receiving balanced scores in all areas and achieving the SA grade.
Additionally, Gangdong-gu won the highest award for two consecutive years at the Manifesto Competition evaluating the excellence of pledges, with projects such as the ‘Happy School,’ which reimagined schools from students' perspectives, and the ‘Angel Workshop Street Creation’ project, which transformed a street of adult entertainment establishments into a youth startup space.
