Renault Samsung Motors sells 10,348 units in May... Strong export performance of XM3
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Renault Samsung Motors announced on the 1st that vehicle sales last month totaled 10,348 units, a 13.3% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Domestic sales in May were 4,635 units, down 56.2% year-on-year, while exports surged 320.69% to 5,713 units.
The increase in XM3 exports to Europe drove the performance. The May export volume of the XM3 was 4,247 units, the highest shipment since vehicle exports began.
The XM3 will be sold in 28 European countries starting this month, marking a full-scale entry into the European market. It was pre-launched in March this year in four countries including France, and over the following three months, sales exceeded the initial target of 7,250 units, reaching over 9,000 units.
