Considering the Emergence of New Forms of Real Estate Businesses such as Shared Offices
Expansion of Priority Age for Workforce Recruitment-Linked Projects to Under 34 Years Old
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Young people employed in small and venture companies related to real estate, such as shared offices, will also be able to participate in the Naeil Chaeum Deduction program.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that the amendment to the enforcement decree of the "Special Act on Support for Small and Medium Enterprises Workforce," which will take effect from the 9th, passed the Cabinet meeting on the 1st.
Looking into the amendment details, first, the real estate industry is included in the target industries for small and medium enterprise workforce support. This allows support for young people employed in small and venture companies related to newly emerging real estate industries such as appraisal services, shared offices, and shared housing.
The real estate industry is broadly divided into "real estate leasing and supply" and "real estate-related services." Real estate-related services include industries that perform real estate facility maintenance, brokerage services, investment advisory services, and appraisal work based on commissions or contracts.
In real estate leasing and supply, new types of businesses such as shared offices, shared housing, and shared kitchens have emerged, and thus are included in the small and medium enterprise workforce support program.
Jeong Ki-hwan, Director of the Job Policy Division at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "Young people employed in small and venture companies related to newly emerging real estate industries such as shared offices can also utilize the 'Naeil Chaeum Deduction' program for workers to accumulate a lump sum and the 'SME Welfare Platform' that provides welfare services."
As a result, the industries excluded from small and medium enterprise workforce support are five sectors: general entertainment pubs, dance entertainment pubs, other pubs, other gambling facility management and operation, and dance hall operation.
The amendment also expanded the age range of unemployed persons who can be selected as first priority in workforce recruitment-linked projects from "under 29" to "under 34." First priority candidates can gain opportunities to be hired by small and medium enterprises after receiving practical training and on-site internships required in the industrial field.
Additionally, a basis for awarding commendations was established to expand support for outstanding workers. For workers who have worked for more than 10 years in small and medium enterprises and have excellent job performance, support such as awards in addition to domestic and overseas training can be provided.
A basis was also established to provide funds to workers who secure housing in regions where small and medium enterprises are located and to small and medium enterprises that build or purchase dormitories. This aims to induce workforce inflow and long-term employment in small and medium enterprises.
