Good Neighbors-Sangil Middle School, Child Rights Monitoring Group Good Motion Launch Ceremony Held
Good Neighbors Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters Child Rights Monitoring Team Takes First Step in Child Policy Proposal Activities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Good Neighbors Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters announced on the 31st that it held the launching ceremony of the Child Rights Monitoring Group Good Motion in collaboration with Sangil Middle School.
The Child Rights Monitoring Group Good Motion consists of children and adolescents, the subjects of child rights, who recognize the importance of themselves and others, observe situations of child rights violations in real life, and propose various policies related to children to create a happy world for children, thereby leading practical changes within the local community.
The launching ceremony was held online due to COVID-19 and proceeded in the order of introduction to child rights, explanation of Good Neighbors' child rights monitoring group activities, and discussion of activity topics.
The Good Neighbors Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters Child Rights Monitoring Group selected 151 students from Sangil Middle School and 15 university student mentors.
Going forward, the Child Rights Monitoring Group will investigate cases of child rights violations occurring in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and propose policies to improve them.
Bae Junyeol, head of Good Neighbors Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, stated, “Through the Child Rights Monitoring Group, Good Neighbors Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters plans to suggest child policies that children practically need, moving away from adults' perspectives.”
