Ministry of Science and ICT Recruiting 900 Expert Instructors to Support Digital Transformation...
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 31st that it will recruit professional instructors for the ‘Digital Transformation Support’ project, newly launched as the first supplementary budget of 2021, from June 1 to 14.
The Digital Transformation Support project aims to create high-quality jobs in the information and communication technology field and accelerate digital transformation in the private sector by training a total of about 900 digital transformation professional instructors to provide customized digital transformation education to small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, and non-profit organizations.
The digital transformation professional instructors to be recruited this time will be 300 each from the project executing organizations: Korea Information and Communication Promotion Association (jointly executed with Korea Management Association), Korea Productivity Center, and Korea Standards Association, totaling 900 instructors.
The selected digital transformation professional instructors will undergo about two weeks of training and then conduct on-site digital transformation education for about four months starting around August, targeting small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, and non-profit organizations that demand digital transformation education.
Candidates must meet requirements such as being graduates of IT-related departments from junior college or higher, holders of national (certified) or international IT-related certifications, having at least one year of lecture experience in IT or informatization education, or having completed IT-related education courses of 160 hours or more. After selection, candidates must complete instructor training and be able to work as instructors for four months. Participation in overlapping job projects such as public work projects by the government and local governments is not allowed. Lee Seungwon, Director of Information and Communication Industry Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “In response to the rapid employment shock in the IT education sector caused by COVID-19, it is necessary to catch ‘two rabbits’ of employment increase and acceleration of digital transformation through digital transformation support linked to job creation.” He added, “The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to continue strengthening its role in fostering professional personnel and expanding the base for the spread of digital transformation throughout society.”
