View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Kim Nam-guk, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, cheered on former Supreme Council member Lee Jun-seok, who ranked first in the preliminary race for the People Power Party leadership, saying, "I wish you success."
On the 28th, the lawmaker posted a photo on his Facebook visiting the site to mark the 5th anniversary of the Seoul Guui Station screen door death accident.
He said, "I visited Guui Station late at night. I had completely forgotten due to the excuse of being busily overwhelmed," adding, "While having dinner, I saw an article shared belatedly in the group chat, hurriedly went out, and visited Guui Station late at night. I am truly sorry. I will never forget again." He continued, "For a safe workplace, a society where workers are respected, and a society without discrimination, I will always stand with citizens on the streets."
When former Supreme Council member Lee commented "That's cool" on the post, Kim replied, "Wow!!! Thank you even for the comment~^^" and added, "Thanks to you, a wind of change is blowing in our party."
He then introduced ongoing discussions within the party, saying, "We are discussing amendments to the party constitution and regulations to become a party that opens its doors wide to young people and allows them to challenge freely." The issues include ▲the preliminary race cut-off by central committee members ▲the high cost problem of spending 200 million to 300 million KRW when running for the party convention election ▲the issue of the approximately 25:1 value difference between delegate and party member votes.
Additionally, Kim added, "I hope former Supreme Council member Lee takes good care of his health until the end of the election and wishes him success."
Earlier, Kim and former Supreme Council member Lee had a heated exchange on social media regarding the hiring of a secretary by Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon.
On the 8th, Kim posted on Facebook, "The content of the videos by the far-right YouTuber hired by Mayor Oh Se-hoon is very similar to the logic from the Ilbe community," and claimed, "I am very concerned that this person was actively involved in the Ilbe community."
In response, former Supreme Council member Lee left a comment directed at Kim, saying, "Please point out what part of the video content is from Ilbe. 'If you have seen it.'"
Kim then replied with a rebuttal comment, "A supportive comment within one minute of posting? Is former Supreme Council member Lee also part of Ilbe? If so, I hope you leave quickly."
