Chungnam Builds Big Data Hub Platform 'Oldam'... Official Opening Next Month
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province has completed the construction of the regional big data hub platform, 'Oldam.' Oldam is expected to officially open next month, enabling data-driven administration.
The province announced on the 28th that it will hold a completion report meeting for the 'Chungnam Big Data Hub Platform (hereafter Oldam).' Oldam was built following its selection in last year's Ministry of the Interior and Safety-led 'Regional Big Data Contest Project' and will officially start service next month.
At the report meeting, the contractor explained the project progress, including Oldam's system configuration diagram, infrastructure construction, acquisition and collection of source data, big data analysis models, and public data opening system construction, and demonstrated the results of each function's implementation.
The purpose of building Oldam is to efficiently utilize data resources and introduce scientific administration based on big data to improve the quality of life for residents.
Through Oldam, the province plans to collect and accumulate multi-sector data such as provincial and city/county administrative data, national data, and high-demand private data, supporting provincial and city/county officials to search for necessary data for their work and utilize it for analysis, policy development, and decision-making.
Additionally, Oldam will be equipped with data analysis results specialized in areas closely related to residents' lives, such as population trends, air/environment, energy, and regional economy, to be referenced in various policy decisions and scientific work promotion, with continuous data updates for real-time sharing.
The province will first provide Oldam services to the province and city/counties starting next month and plans to open it to the private sector after system improvements.
